TITA CORY

Just recently, the former President Corazon Aquino or famously known as Cory passed away. Everyone is mourning for the loss of a great leader and a mother to the nation. Cory is known not only in the Philippines but to the whole world because of her faith and the famous ousting of the former dictator, President Ferdinand Marcos. She is known to the world as the "Icon of Democracy."

Even before nung elementary days ko pa, Idol ko na talaga si President Cory. For the reasons na, she's the first woman president of Asia. It was on her term na na nag unite ang Philippines for one cause. Even as the head of state, the most powerful position in all countries, intact pa rin ang faith nya and she was never like other presidents who abuses the power that was bestowed on them. And according to my mom, Cory is the only president who wasn't corrupt. My mom's justification is that, Cory didn't need the people's money because their family's already rich. Cory's love to the nation is genuine. And i think no political power will ever change that. I admire her faith in God despite all the things that has been happening, she stayed true to her faith. And even though she's in power, she never failed to still be a mother to her children. She was a successful mother to her children thus she was a successful mother to the nation.

Another thing that reminds me of Cory is my nanay. Believe it or not, Pres. Aquino and my nanay has resemblance not only be face but also with actions. My nanay's actions and gestures are so much alike. Maybe because both were raised from a prominent family. Alam naman natin basta mga prominent family medyo conservative pero strong willed. Kaya minsan, yoko tumingin sa pictures ni Cory sa mga tributes on TV coz may hawig sila ng nanay ko. And medyo ka-age lang sila. Cory's just a year older.

PEOPLE POWER - EDSA Revolution
Sa story ng parents ko, sabi nila, during people power, very peaceful daw ang mga tao. Figuratively speaking. No one died during the revolution. It was the government against a praying nation. Nuns were in the front line facing the guns and tanks of the government. Who would dare kill warriors of God? No one right? That's why there were no violence during EDSA Revolution. People stayed in EDSA until President Marcos came down to position. And when he did, the nation celebrated for regaining back the democracy that everyone deserved, thanks to President Aquino because she led the people to gain back their rights.

Now on her passing, the nation is once again united to celebrate the life President Aquino had. She was very fulfilled for she has done so many things to her family and of course the people of the country. Even struggling with her life, it was her prayer that the nation will be once again united to fight for their rights and the wellness of the country. She's such a wonderful mother to a nation. She always believed that the people still have hope to have a better country. If only people practice their rights truthfully and in the right way there's no doubt that the Philippines will once again rise to the top of every other nation.

With her death, yung pagka nationalistic ko nabuhay. Usually, i don't really care on what's happening on the country. But now that she dead we try to remember and reminisce all the things that the late President Aquino did for the country, my faith in the country is burning again, aching for it's betterment.

And another addition, it was during Cory's time that the Mindanao was at peace. Cory declared some regions in Mindanao as autonomous. She gave freedom to the Muslims. It was through her initiative that the MILF signed a peace treaty with the government. It was because the Muslims believe in her and in Ninoy.

MABUHAY ang PILIPINAS and may our beloved Corazon Aquino rest in peace with our beloved Sen. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino. WE LOVE YOU PRESIDENT CORAZON AQUINO!

"I would rather die a meaningful death, than live a meaningless life."
"I just do whatever it is that i believe, regardless of the risks to my life."
"As I came to power peacefully, so shall i keep it." - Corazon Aquino
